Adds this week include the incredible Animal Logic! We were so impressed by this effort from Stewart Copeland, Stanley Clarke and Deborah Holland that we chose to go on two tracks: There's A Spy (In The House Of Love)" and "Someday We'll Understand."

October 27, 1989 - The Hard Report

Animal Logic, "There's A Spy (In The House Of Love)", I.R.S....Hitting the road quickly, they're following through on what can only be seen as an astonishing reaction to a consistently competitive and listenable album. This record is working in several markets, so for all that chronic hedging about "room" and "traffic", you have to give this track crerdit for blasting onto the playlists tighter that Jim Bakker's prison issue blue jeans. Backed by the ultra professional rhythm section of Stewart Copeland and Stanley Clarke, new discovery and future star Deborah Holland lends the entire atmosphere of cool caresses to that voice and writing.Just plain unbeatable. Doug Clifton at KBCO says, "After many weeks of consideration we get Animal Logic on the air this week. We still have a couple of non-believers on the staff but this song should prove itself once on the air."... New this week at CHOM, KACV, KBCO, KMOD, KSQY, WGIR, WIZN and WXRT, progressing on the Hard Hundred at 83-76.

November 3, 1989 - The Hard Report

Animal Logic, "There's A Spy (In The House Of Love)", I.R.S....It's a rare record that will allow you to get on with your personal agenda while keeping it at a firm volume. That's about as rare as a grease free cheesesteak in these parts. While you savor the coolness of 'Winds Of Santa Ana,' 'Firing Up The Sunset Gun,' 'Elijah,' and 'I'm Through With Love', bear in mind that they're getting ready to tour the East Cost, with who know what other dates in store. Should be outstanding. The production reaches dep into an arrangement of aural lushness while still keeping its modesty. Deborah's voice is the perfect focal point for all this musical mastery, both a controlled and passionate vehicle, to say the most. WIOT's Jim Steel kept it brief and just said, "Animal Logic is great" ... So what more qualification could you possibly want. Go and check it out again and see if that chorus doesn't carry you away. 76-69 on the Hard Hundred. Added this week KZRR, WBCN, WFYV, WHCN, WKGR, WSTZ and WVVV.
